Working towards a sustainable future
Thanks to our projects, we contribute to building the sustainable infrastructure of tomorrow. Think of our smart & sustainable energy projects, through which we help facilitate the energy transition, something our employees are rightfully proud of.
Our sustainability policy is broad in scope. It focuses not only on our planet, but also on our people.
We continuously have a number of initiatives in progress.
A selection of our current initiatives…
…with a focus on our climate:
- How can we prevent unnecessary waste and recycle as much as possible?
- How can we reduce our fuel consumption? Where can we efficiently use green energy in our operations?
- How can we reduce energy consumption at our facilities?
…with a focus on our people:
- How do we ensure that we always work safely with each other and our environment?
- How can we support our employees’ health, for example through healthy eating and sufficient physical activity?
- How do we support APK employees in vertical or horizontal career growth when they choose to pursue it?
CO₂ Performance Ladder
We closely monitor our CO₂ emissions and actively work to limit and reduce them wherever possible. In both the Netherlands and Belgium, we have achieved our targets for the CO₂ Performance Ladder. APK Group Netherlands has reached Level 5, and APK Group Belgium is certified at Level 3 under Handbook 3.1.
Well-being at Work
This theme includes many initiatives. A few examples:
– We support our employees’ health by creatively encouraging healthy eating and regular physical activity.
– By encouraging our APK employees to follow at least one training course per year and to take the step toward vertical or horizontal career growth, we invest in their personal development.
Many of these initiatives were launched at the request of our own APK employees.
